DESCRIPTION:***CHANGE OF EVENT***The previously-scheduled potluck venue was double-booked\, and so April’s potluck is switched to a dine-out!\n\n\n🍕 Join us for get-together of vegan food — pizza\, bruschetta\, garlic cheese toast\, nuggets\, mock chicken parm\, jerk tofu bowls\, brownies\, & more — @ Pizza Luce. \nPhoto credit to Tony Webster. \n\n💌  Please RSVP on Ticketbud so we can get a proper headcount. We need an accurate headcount for the restaurant. Thanks!\n\n🍞 For anyone with Celiac or gluten sensitivity\, gluten-free vegan pizza crust is also available\, and some other vegan options are also gluten-free (Jerk Tofu Bowl\, Bruschetta\, many salads\, Molly brownies). The Pizza Luce cooking environment is not gluten-free\, but the ingredients on these items are gluten-free.\n\n👥 All are welcome – invite your veg-friendly friends and family! All food we order at the dine-out should be vegan\, and all attendees will pay for our own order or pizza portion. If you need to cancel\, email abbey.feola @ exploreveg. org (remove spaces).\n\n🐷 In addition to enjoying good food together\, there will be an optional opportunity to write to our representatives against the current Farm Bill’s efforts to overturn state and local animal welfare laws that protect farmed animals from the worst abuses. The current farm bill overturns laws like CA’s Prop 12\, which mandates that every animal be given enough space to turn around.\n\n🧡 This group is sponsored by Compassionate Action for Animals and is a welcoming and non-judgmental group. SUMMARY:Mural Dreaming Session at Dreamstate Café
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a meaningful afternoon as we shape our communal vision for the installation of a new public mural in the Twin Cities! \nOn April 26 at 1:00 PM\, Compassionate Action for Animals will host an interactive information and listening session in the private event space at Dreamstate Café. This event is an opportunity to learn more about the mural project (including the proposed site and potential artists)\, while also helping guide its direction. \nWhat Is the Mural Project?\nLed by CAA board member\, Julie Knopp\, and with support from CAA staff\, a group of volunteers is working towards the goal of a large-scale public work of art. This exciting initiative will bring public art in the form of a mural to the Twin Cities community and inspire compassion for all animals! \nImagine walking down a street in the Twin Cities and seeing a vibrant mural that asks: What if every animal deserves kindness\, no matter their species? \nThis is the vision behind the “Minnesota Mural for Animals:” a large-scale public art installation. This powerful mural will open hearts\, spark conversations\, and inspire compassion for all species — whether companion animals\, wildlife\, or those suffering inside the windowless walls of factory farms. \nWith your help\, we can create a public art piece that reaches thousands each day with a critical invitation to expand their circle of compassion. \nHow You Can Help\nWe want to hear from you: your hopes\, ideas\, and dreams for what this mural can represent. Together\, we’ll explore how the space can become not only a powerful visual statement\, but also a place for connection and action. At this event\, you’ll find out more about the project and have a chance to share your ideas too.  \nWhat to Expect at the Event\nJoin us at the wonderful Dreamstate Cafe in Minneapolis! Feel free to order food and beverages from Dreamstate’s menu — all purchases are on your own. We suggest grabbing a drink and small plates to bring to the event room as we’ll be moving around a bit. Come early or stay late so you can enjoy a full meal in their dining room! \nWe will gather in their newly updated private back room where you’ll hear from committee members on the mural project. Then\, we want to hear from you!
